The fans who are located within a radius of a mile from 20 famous points of interest in the world must simply access the app Star Wars, select Find the Force and point the smartphone into the sky to see a brief scene in augmented reality. The animation, lasting 10 seconds, shows a Star Destroyer erecting in heaven while two TIE Fighters are fighting in the background.
“This weekend dedicated to Force Friday II, – says Paul Southern, Senior Vice President, Global Licensing Lucasfilm – we invite fans and families to join the Resistance to “Find the Force” in our treasure hunt in augmented reality that will take place in over 20,000 stores all over the world. We are launching this event with a great surprise in augmented reality for anyone who is close to 20 of the most famous places of the world. Simply open the app Star Wars and watch the sky!”

All others will be able to see the videos and photos on the website www.starwars.com
James Burns of Jedi News, one of the super fans groups of Star Wars, after having seen a preview of the scene in augmented reality, commented: “What a better way to give way to the Force Friday II if you do not see a Star Destroyer above the favorite place of your city? It is surprising! Star Wars has such a special value for so many people and insert this type of augmented reality in the Star Wars app is a great way to enter into the atmosphere of expectation for next movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi and for everything you expect from here to December!”
